How Traveler Kathy Petrino Sees New Orleans

July 23, 2019

Kathy Petrino loves to write about her frequent travels, but it is her generosity that may be the most pervasive. She wants others to visit all the same places she has enjoyed and she wants them to miss out on the occasional difficulties that pop up. For example, Kathy Petrino wants as many people as possible to have as much fun as she did in one ofher favorite destinations; New Orleans, Louisiana.Whether one refers to it by its name, by its acronym, NOLA, or its nickname, “The Big Easy,” the area conjures great images of unending jazz and great food.

Sure, the city has been knocked backward a few times, such as in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, but there is so much life in New Orleans, it is simply a great place to visit and a far different than most other cities. For instance, NOLA is famous for the panoply of scents coming from the constant cooking of scrumptious French-inspired Creole and Cajun food. In addition to great food, though, the city lives up to its motto, “Laissez les bons temps rouler!” (“Let the good times roll!”), which is why the sounds wafting through the New Orleans air are as compelling as the scents. Between the myriad live jazz and blues clubs and the street performers who appear on almost every block, it’s hard to miss the music. There is nothing like New Orleans anywhere else.
